Tom Pelissero of NFL Community reported that the NFL has fined Department $20,256 for his hit on Green Bay Packers huge receiver Bo Melton and his gesture that noticed him flip off Packers fans with each and every of his hands.

The NFL fined #Lions DB Brian Department $20,256 — $10,128 every for the hit that ended in his ejection and giving double fingers on his approach off the world last week.

He was ejected from the game following the hit and made the shameful gesture as he was exiting the world.

Following the game, Department acknowledged that he agreed with the referee’s call and issued an apology for the incident with the fans.

“That’s not something I wanted to show or want people to notice me as that,” Department said, per Eric Woodyard of ESPN. “That was just the heat of the moment for me, and I apologize to everyone who seen that and that won’t happen again.”

Whereas Department will dangle a success to his bank tale, he was not suspended for his actions and need to peaceful be readily available for the Lions’ Week 10 matchup against the Houston Texans.

Department is in his 2nd NFL season and has been a vital contributor to a mighty Lions defense. He has performed in seven video games, recording 40 tackles, 11 bound deflections, four interceptions and a forced fumble.
