Welsh rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit has officially joined the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars as a wide receiver. The 23-year-old made the switch after being released by the Kansas City Chiefs.
Rees-Zammit, who has been pictured in the Jaguars’ jersey, shared his excitement on social media. “Can’t wait to see you guys in the UK,” he said in a video posted on the JaguarsUK and NFLUK Instagram accounts. “We got a game in a couple of months so we’re really looking forward to it.”
While not currently on the Jaguars’ 53-man roster, Rees-Zammit could be promoted for up to three games if injuries occur. His move to the NFL comes with a potential earnings of around £170,000 for the season.
