The Dutch Gambling Authority (Kansspelautoriteit) has “strongly requested” the F1 organisation and the Sauber racing group to no longer promote the unlawful gambling firm Stake for the length of the F1 races in Zandvoort this weekend.

“Stake would no longer agree with a permit from the Kansspelautoriteit and is therefore no longer allowed to give gambling within the Netherlands.”

The Sauber System 1 group competes in most worldwide races as Stake F1 Team, an worldwide gambling provider and the group’s major sponsor.

The Gambling Authority said:

Below gambling regulation, it is prohibited to give gambling with out a permit, to promote unlawful gambling or to facilitate participation in it. Kansspelautoriteit considers it undesirable for unlawful gambling to be advertised at a Dutch match of the dimension and scope of System 1, also attributable to the match attracts barely about a attention from susceptible groups similar to minors and teens.
